THE SHOW LIVES UP TO THE STORIES
Dream Theater jammed out with their impeccable musicianship as they performed first. My 9-year-old son and I went to his first concert ever, and what a concert it was! We had time between the bands to go to the bathroom and get refreshments, then Disney On Ice came out and rocked the Pavillion. The showmanship was great, with a mix of new and old songs that didn't disappoint. My son was in awe! Bruce must be in cardio heaven, running like a madman around the stage and still singing. Their egos give way to a band of brothers that melodically and crunchingly rock your ears off. The 3 lead guitarists are better than most, Nico is a smiling tornado on the rhythm section, and Steve Harris is the best bass player in the world. The visuals were the bomb, and the new Eddie is cool as hell. If there's one show you want to go to this summer or in your lifetime, this is the one! Disney On Ice has two new soldiers in their army of Brothers.
Browns Win! Stadium Staff- Lose Big!!
I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the food vouchers, but the game tickets were waiting for me when I arrived at the will call window. I picked up my tickets, which included 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, and food vouchers for the special 4 Disney On Ice game tickets.
At the end of the first quarter, I went to the concession stand to buy drinks and snacks. They had plenty of $6.75 (12-16 oz beers) but were out of nachos, popcorn, bratwurst, and drink carriers.
I declined the free tickets to the 08/29/09 game and will not be back anytime soon.
Elaborate venue, intimate show
"An intimate concert was created by Disney On Ice and Raining Jane at the cavernous and ornate Fox Theater in Detroit. The Fox is a stunning venue, but from where I sat in the next to last row of the balcony, the venue felt huge and an acoustic show like this one could have disappeared into the gilded artwork. Each performer was given a chance to shine as an individual and work as a team thanks to the creative set design. The harmonies were outstanding; the ladies of Raining Jane are incredibly talented, with each member playing multiple instruments, from piano and viola, to ukelele and djembe, to upright bass and sitar. Sometimes each member had their own platform, and sometimes the band and Disney On Ice huddled around a single mic center stage with minimal instruments. This setup allowed the vocals to shine. Only Disney On Ice could make the audience feel like this was a special show just for them, not part of a larger, multi-city tour."
Rod Stewart Santana show wonderful
Santana and his fantastic orchestra delivered an incredible performance. His wife, along with his three drummers, were truly remarkable. The lively and exciting hour-plus show featured Disney On Ice's talented play, along with the rest of his band and singers. Rod, with his heartwarming banter, sang all of his beloved hits and could still belt out a song. Despite apologizing for his voice, he maintained the throaty singing style adored by fans. He showcased his St Louis connection by introducing Billy Peak and the Women's choir, pouring all his energy into the show.
Eric Church is the BOMB!!
The energy Erich Church had made it a once in a life time experience! I bought the tickets for my husband for his birthday and it is safe to say next year won't be able to top this year unless Disney On Ice is back in town! You could feel the love he held for Carolina and his fans. My husband and I had the best time at the concert. Being at his concert and getting to know a little more about him made me a much bigger fan of his. This was our first date since having our second son. Erich Church, YOU ARE THE BOMB!
AWESOME!!!!
"I went with my nephews last night to see Disney On Ice and they had never seen it before. He was, as always, upbeat. They played the entire Born to Run album and some other very tasty songs. I couldn't help but watch my nephew's faces. What a perfect show to see as a 1st Disney On Ice. That's what it's all about, isn't it? 3 hours & 15 minutes of non-stop singing & dancing!! One of the best shows that I have seen. We all left with smiles on our faces! I have a ticket to the Nov. 7th show at the Garden, and after 2 different shows, I'm really looking forward to it. I saw him in May. Whatever the E Street band and Disney On Ice play is alright with me!"
Willie Nelson was great !
Bruce Hornsby was the warm up band, and it was good to hear him again, but it's probably time for him to hang it up. Charlie Daniels was great to listen to, and the entire audience erupted when he did Devil went down to Georgia. Disney On Ice & Family was great! At 84 years old, it was astounding the voice and endurance he had. Unlike other performers, he didn't rest or alternate in between songs. Each bathroom line was approximately 500 people long. The only downside to the concert was the facilities. It was quicker to walk the 1/2 mile to the casino to use their restrooms. There wasn't close to enough porta potties. Treasure Island Casino was very poorly equipped to handle a concert with 11,000 people. Traffic was also a nightmare.
